Pleasant location on river, great restaurant if you like Indian cuisine.

The line-up for breakfast was very long and continual. Breakfast was mediocre. Noisy hallways especially by elevator. A/C is old and must be manually turned on every cycle.
We enjoyed our room, it was spacious with a loft. The room had a balcony. Hotel room was very clean. The Indian Restaurant attached has amazing food-we ordered to go and ate in our room. Plates and cutlery were provided. Hotel is on the river-great place for a beautiful walk.

No frills small place for tasteful food in budget!
Went there recently with the team for dinner. Decent place located near Hotel Govind Garden in a gully with closely spaced seating, decent background score, good illumination… it a place with focus on food and nothing else.
Menu had popular veg and non-veg preparations from pan Indian cuisines (some influence of Delhi/North India visible). They also serve Indian Chinese. Portion sizes were very good and justifying the price.
Taste was very nice and quality of raw material used appeared good.
Tried
Burnt Garlic Noodle Soup:
Low on cornstarch, high on flavour of garlic. It was nice to start with.
Chicken lollypop:
Wings of heaven; crisp case and juicy flesh. Colour used in batter. Decent in taste.
Chicken Seekh Kebab:
Mildly spicy, melted in mount. Very good.
Chicken Irani Kebab:
Mildly spicy chicken chunks wrapped in egg. Decent!
Chilli Chicken:
Typical chilli chicken, low on red sauce, decent taste.
Chicken Kentucky:
Spicy chicken with bone in brown sauce and base on onion, garlic, capsicum. Nice!
Mutton Roganjosh:
Tender mutton with bone in red tasteful gravy. Good!
Butter Garlic Nan:
Nicely done and generous amount of garlic and butter.
Summary (out of 5)
Ambiance: 3
Food taste: 4.5
Food quality: 4
Service: 4.5
Value for money: 4.5
Service: 4.5
Overall: 4
Overall, it is a nice small place for dining in budget.
Worth mentioning
This will remind you the taste and feel of typical north Indian (say Delhi) small restaurants around the corner.
Some nice veg starters are also available including Soya Chaps.
Fantastic all inclusive Buffet offers… please check!

by Nicole Nithiyah | Aug 14, 2019 Expect a medley of colours at the Tan Teng Niah house There’s a reason why Little India, Singapore has earned a rep as a hip hood. We explore the best Indian cuisine, cafes, boutique hotels, shopping, IG-worthy spots and beyond.
The name says it all. This vibrant neighbourhood is a slice of India in multicultural Singapore. Blending the old and new, the buzzing ethnic enclave is peppered with spice shops, jewellery stores, flower vendors, saree specialists, trendy cafes and hip watering holes; each offering a heady experience like no other. Don’t worry if you missed the dazzling Deepavali lights here in October , ‘cos there’s still plenty to see and do in this guide to Little India, Singapore. Eat & Drink Madras New Woodlands A VIP thali meal at Madras New Woodlands has over 10 side dishes. Photography: Madras New Woodlands via Facebook
This South Indian restaurant has a vegetarian VIP thali meal fit for a king. A thali is a selection of vegetables and curries in mini metal pots served on a large platter. We’d recommend sharing with a friend unless you don’t mind the food coma that comes after. You can also find a selection of honest vegetarian delights like appam, paper dosa, parootha and curd vadai. Wash it all down with a satisfying cup of masala chai. Madras New Woodlands , 14 Upper Dickson Rd, Singapore 207474, p. 6297 1594 Indian Express
Need some spice? Drop by Indian Express – Michelin-starred Song of India’s second concept space. It might be one of many Indian restaurants on Race Course Rd, but it sure stands out with its brand new menu and chef. Trained under Michelin-starred chef Manjunath Mural, executive chef Umed Singh’s plates packs all kinds of punches at entirely wallet-friendly prices. Meat eaters, go all in with the tandoori mix grill platter ($19) that’s topped with a big fat lamb chop, fish, chicken tikka and kebabs and a bowl of lip-smacking mint chutney.
Indian Express’ smoky version of butter chicken has us going back for seconds. The coconut fish curry with a cashew paste and prawn masala with tomatoes will take you on a culinary trip to the Indian west coast (Konkan). Dip a garlic naan or a laccha paratha or two. If you’re going with a vegetarian friend, be sure to order to homely okra masala, palak paneer (pureed spinach with cottage cheese chunks) and double down on Indian street food. Indian Express , 38 Race Course Road, Singapore 218555 Sinfully good Indian sweets you need to try Moghul Sweet Shop

Moghul Sweet Shop serves up a variety of authentic North Indian sweets including gulab jamun, laddoo, jilebi and Mysore pak, just to name a few. It’s a grab ‘n go kinda spot so you can tapao all you want. Best to go during off-peak hours (especially before or after the lunch crowd) to avoid snaking queues. Oh, and don’t leave without ordering a samosa. It will blow your mind. Moghul Sweet Shop, 48 Serangoon Road, #01-16 Liitle India Arcade, Singapore 217959 Azmi Restaurant

Reminisce about the glory days with star dishes like Flower Bread served with a choice of lip-smacking chicken curry, chicken stew or beef stew, local delights like Nasi Lemak and Burbur Cha Cha and of course, some fluffy curry puffs. It’s always packed as diners can’t get enough of its signature masala dosai (pancake made from rice and lentil batter, filled with mashed potato) served with free-flow sambar (lentil based vegetable stew). Or try the massive paper thosai (pictured above) if you’re feeling extra peckish. We like to have it for breakfast .
