Bhutan, tucked between China and India, is often touted as the happiest country in the world. While most countries use Gross National Product (GNP) as an indicator of progress, Bhutan uses another form of measurement – Gross National Happiness.
To find out what exactly makes this landlocked country one of the most elusive, yet most sought-after travel destinations, you have to try out these 21 things in Bhutan for yourself: 1. Meet the King of Bhutan Source: Huffington Post
How often do you get to meet the leader of a country? As it turns out, the answer in Bhutan is ‘often’.
The current king, His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, is well-known for being a humble royal that enjoys going around the country and visiting his subjects. According to the Bhutanese, you will have a chance to see him during national events like National Day and Royal Wedding Anniversary celebration.
If you are truly lucky, you may even get to meet up him close. Some tourists have recounted meeting the king while cycling, and even had a chance to speak with him (he was educated overseas, and can speak fluent English)! 2. Go whitewater rafting Source: Whitewater Rafting
Most people would expect to go trekking in Bhutan, but there’s another exciting way to traverse the beautiful landscape: whitewater rafting!
Don’t worry if you have little, or even no experience. Experienced rafters at the helm will expertly guide you through a fun day of rafting through the scenic views that only Bhutan has but through an entirely different point of view as rare birds and animals can be seen or heard. 3. Visit Chimi Lhakhang Temple Source: Loveleen De
Chimi Lhakhang Temple is arguably one of the most well-known temples in Bhutan, but did you know that it is actually famous for the carving of phalluses on all walls of the temple, as well as its ancient Thai-themed architecture?
Also known as the “Fertility Temple”, Chimi Lhakang is mostly visited by childless couples. Women who come to the monastery seeking blessings of children will get hit on the head by the presiding Lama with a 10-inch ivory, wood and bone phallus as well as the bow and arrow supposedly used by the Divine Madman – Drukpa Kuenley himself hundreds of years ago.
Be sure to see this unique temple for yourself! 4. Try archery at Changlimithang Stadium and Archery Ground Source: Travel Notes
Archery is not only the most beloved pastime of Bhutan, but also the country’s national sport. It is said that Bhutanese men would never say no when asked to compete in a round of archery, and that most of them own a set of expensive bow and arrows.
Watching the locals compete in archery tournaments is a very exciting affair, as these tournaments are often accompanied by howls, chanting, encouragement and jokes.
If you are up for it, you can also try your hand at archery. But don’t worry – the Bhutanese are very hospitable, so they won’t laugh and jeer at you even if you aren’t the best archer! 5. Relax in a natural hot spring Source: ITAP
In Bhutan, hot springs are known as Tshachu, the mineral water as Drubchu and the medicinal water as Smenchu. The people believe that the these are blessings of the Buddha and so, the hot springs are generally found in sacred sites in the country.
Water from the hot springs is also used for hot spring therapy in Bhutan. Don’t be surprised if you see camps at various hot springs during winter: the Bhutanese take their healing therapies very seriously!
One of the most famous hot springs is the Gasa Tshachu. It is popular with the locals for its healing powers, as the water is believed to cure arthritis, skin diseases, ulcers, rheumatism, indigestion, tuberculosis, and different other ailments. 6. Party in Thimphu’s ‘Drayangs’ Source: Jetset Times
It’s not all about tradition and nature in this country: the nightlife scene in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, is actually as lively as any other metropolitan city.
Drayangs are venues for live performances by Bhutanese ladies. Traditional attire and cultural Bhutanese dances will be presented all evening with song requests made by visitors in exchange of tips. As compared to the usual bars and clubs, drayangs are harder to find. However, if you are lucky enough to find one, you can relax inside with a drink in hand and experience Bhutanese culture, music, dance, and food. 7. Do birdwatching Source: Bhutan Heritage
Thanks to the country’s efforts to preserve much of its natural habitat, Bhutan is a paradise for bird lovers and ornithologists. Over 670 species of birds have been recorded, and it is estimated that the country harbours more than 16 vulnerable species, including the extremely rare Imperial Heron and Black-Necked Crane.
You can spot many of these birds on your treks, but if you are interested in travelling with like-minded bird lovers and finding the best places to birdwatch, it is recommended that you sign up for a birding or birdwatching tour. 8. Go biking in Bhutan Source: Classic Bike Adventure India
If you thought Bhutan’s terrain was only good for trekking and cycling, think again. The country’s mountainous roads, which reach heights of up to 4000m, are actually very well-maintained. Most terrains are manageable, although it can get challenging at parts, so even amateur bikers can travel through Bhutan easily.
Most motorbike tours go on routes that offer awe-inspiring sights of the Himalayan ranges while you hit winding mountain roads, off-road trails, and scenic stretches through some of the most pristine forests. It’s hard to get bored when you get to enjoy such diverse scenery throughout your biking journey! 9. Get personalised stamps at Philatelic Bureau Source: Thrillophilia
Most people would not think of a post office as a must-visit, but Thimphu’s main post office is actually the location for one of Bhutan’s most unique gifts.
Bring a favourite digital photo on a USB stick or have a portrait taken on the spot, and staff will print you a sheet of personalised stamps with your photo on them. The process costs Nu 200 (the actual cost of the stamps), and takes just a couple of minutes. You can even buy a postcard, stick your personalized stamp on it, and send it back home to your family and friends! 10. Watch monks dance at a Tsechu festival Source: Nils Leonhardt
Attending festivals is arguably one of the best ways to understand and experience a country’s ancient practices and culture, and Bhutan has no lack of festivals as well. A Tsechu is a Buddhist festival in honour of Guru Rimpoche, the saint who brought Buddhism to Bhutan.
Tsechu festivals are held every autumn in every district of Bhutan. The dates of the celebration vary from district to district and year to year, but the one in Thimphu is the grandest, featuring dances performed by trained monks and laymen in amazing masks and costumes.
It is believed that just by attending the Tsechu and being in the crowd, you will gain merit. Religious tones aside, the Tsechu is also a yearly social gathering where the people from neighbouring districts gather to rejoice and celebrate in their best clothes. 11. Shop at Thimphu’s weekend market Source: World Discovery
As the name suggests, this weekend market is around only on the weekends: vendors from throughout the region start arriving on Friday afternoon, and remain until Sunday night.
You will find village people jostling with well-heeled Thimphu residents for the best – and cheapest – vegetables and foodstuffs. This is also the only time that fresh produce is easily available and the shopping is enhanced by the opportunity to catch up on the week’s gossip.
At the northern end of the market is a collection of stalls called “the indigenous goods and handicrafts section”, where they sell locally produced goods such as religious objects, cloth, baskets and strange hats from various minority groups. They are more than happy to sell these to tourists, but it’s mostly intended for the locals. 12. Visit Jigme Dorji National Park Source: Bhutan the land of happiness
Located in the northwestern part of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji National Park borders with Tibetan China in the north and is home to some 6,500 local tribespeople who have been living there before the establishment of the park.
The park provides sanctuary for 37 known species of mammals, including several endangered, threatened or vulnerable species. It is also the only park in Bhutan where the national animal (takin), flower (blue poppy), bird (raven) and tree (cypress) exist together.
More than being a natural haven, Jigme Dorji National Park contains sites of cultural and economic significance: you will find Mount Jomolhari and Mount Jitchu Drake, which are worshipped as homes of the local deity. 13. See the takin Source: Team Bhutan
Takin is a vulnerable species of goat-antelope, native to Bhutan, India, China and Tibet. The story of how it came to Bhutan’s national animal is as strange as the animal itself: it is said that the Divine Madman took the head of a roasted goat, attached it to a cow’s skeleton, clapped his hands, and the skeleton grew a full body to become the takin.
You can spot this creature in the Bhutanese wilderness, but if you are not lucky enough, you will have to settle with seeing them at the national rescue centre on the outskirts of Thimphu. 14. Spot endangered animals Source: Travel Triangle
Besides the takin, you can also see other endangered species in Bhutan’s wildlife sanctuaries and parks. These include the Himalayan Bear, Himalayan Blue Sheep, Dhole (Indian wild dog), and snow leopards.
Take a trek through any of the 15 small and big national parks in Bhutan to catch a glimpse of these rare mammals, because some of these are so rare that you probably won’t find them anywhere else! 15. Visit Punakha Dzong Source: Wikimedia Commons
Punakha Dzong was the second to be built in Bhutan, and it served as the capital and seat of government until the mid-1950s.
It is recognised as one of the most important dzongs in Bhutan, as all of Bhutan’s kings have been crowned here. Today, it is the official winter residence of the dratshang (official monk body). Most of Bhutan’s national treasures are also kept inside this dzong, but only two people are allowed inside the treasury: the king and the Je Khenpo (The Head of Bhutan Buddhism).
This dzong is also impressive for the fact that it was built without the use of nails, not even one! 16. Do horse riding Source: Condé Nast Traveller
Horses are traditionally used as pack and riding animals for crossing mountain passes, and now horseback riding is also available as a way for travellers to explore Bhutan.
Travelling on horseback is a great alternative to hiking if you want to explore areas that were previously deemed inaccessible, as many small villages in Bhutan are still located very far from the nearest road. You can also sign up for horse riding lessons if you register with a tour group. 17. Try Bhutanese craft beer Source: Unusual Traveller
In Bhutan, beer culture is rapidly growing, and Bhutanese are trying to create a taste for ingenious craft beers, thanks to its farming traditions where barley, wheat, and other cereals are common.
Be sure to try out Druk 11000 — an 8 percent ABV brew sometimes described as malt liquor — which is produced by Bhutan Brewery, and is the nation’s most popular beer. Sin Chang and Bang Chang are also true farmhouse brews, made from locally available grains, but unfortunately these are reserved for special occasions like the Tsechu festival, and cannot be sold commercially. 18. Have a taste of Ema Datshi Source: Pikturenama
Just like how Singaporeans love chili, the Bhutanese also love their chili peppers, even though this is not indigenous to the country.
It is little wonder then, that Bhutan’s national dish is a chili cheese stew called Ema Datshi. It is probably the only cuisine in the world where chilies are considered a vegetable, rather than as a spice or condiment. The spiciness is balanced out with tomatoes, butter and cheese, then typically served over a bed of red rice (another Bhutanese staple food).
However, be warned: the Bhutanese are really into eating spicy foods, so you may find yourself constantly having to reach for water. 19. Go rock climbing Source: Himalayan Crest
If trekking, biking, and horseback riding are still not exciting enough for you, how about rock climbing in Bhutan?
The Vertical Bhutan Climbing Club, a young group of rock-climbing enthusiasts in Thimphu, organize weekly climbing sessions and and events, and you are more than welcome to join them. Be sure to conquer ‘The Nose’, a climbing rock near Thimphu that offers thirteen exciting climbing routes for all levels. 20. Cross Punakha Suspension Bridge Source: Darter Photography
For the true adrenaline junkie, one of the most heart-pumping activities in Bhutan is… crossing a suspension bridge?!
One of the oldest suspension bridges in the world, Punakha Suspension Bridge in Bhutan was believed to be built by the Buddhist Monk, Thangtong Gyalpo. The 160m long bridge links the villages to Punakha Dzong, where the kings used to reside.
Made from iron links, this bridge perched high above the swift river of Po Chhu can sway rather violently from side-to-side when there are strong winds, and become even wobblier when more people are walking on the bridge – definitely not for the faint-hearted! 21. See Mount Everest Source: MakeMyTrip
The Bhutanese kingdom is home to some of the highest unclimbed mountains in the world, as the locals consider the mountains to be the sacred abode of the gods and spirits, and hence the government imposed a blanket ban on climbing any mountain in Bhutan.
Even if you can’t climb any mountains, it’s still an interesting experience to see the snow-capped peaks, including Mount Everest. You can catch a breathtaking view of the tallest mountain in the world on your flight, provided you pick the right seat: if you are flying to Paro from Kathmandu, ask for a window seat on the left side of the plane on the flight in, and on the right side on the way back!

Singapore’s “Melting Pot Of Flavours” Makes It Ideal Holiday Destination For Middle East Foodies

Posted by admin
Chef Mohammad Orfali, star of the Middle East’s leading food channel, Fatafeat, has extolled the virtues of Singapore as the destination for Muslim tourists who have a passion for food.
Chef Mohammad believes that Singapore’s melting pot of flavours, combining Chinese, Indian, Malay and Peranakan influences, makes it a must-visit destination for any foodie. It is a city that those from the Arab world in particular, will appreciate for its history and authenticity of cuisine.
Recounting his experiences from a recent trip to Singapore with Fatafeat and the Singapore Tourism Board, Chef Mohammad said: “The vibrancy of the city is evident wherever you go and I couldn’t wait to immerse myself in the flavours and customs of cooking and creating in the kitchen.”
Singaporeans are passionate about food and the city has developed a dining scene steeped in heritage and tradition, yet imbued with a voracious appetite for innovation. Renowned for one of the most distinctive street food cultures in the world, Singapore connects people to the hawker culture and local communities like nowhere else.
“The fish-head curry at Banana Leaf in Little India was the stand out dish of my trip,” said Chef Mohammad. “I can still taste the combination of flavours, it was exquisite!”
Fish-head curry is one of the most famous Singaporean dishes, introduced to the country in the 1940s by Indian restaurateur Marian Jacob Gomez who created a South Indian-style delicacy catering specifically to Chinese tastes.
It is typically served in a claypot with the head of a red snapper stewed in Kerala-style curry with vegetables such as okra and eggplant.
Abdul Rahman Mohideen, Area Director MEA for the Singapore Tourism Board, said: “Singapore, well known as a popular and exciting city destination, is actively shaping a landscape of epicurean inventiveness and has established itself as a hotspot for culinary talents who push new boundaries in dining experiences. It has become a magnet for the world’s top food personalities including the likes of Chef Mohammad, with renowned chefs setting up outposts of their Michelin-starred restaurants, such as Wolfgang Puck, Gordon Ramsey and Daniel Boulud.
“But one of the aspects that makes Singapore so unique is the hawker culture. People of all ages, cultures, income brackets and religions descend upon these epicentres to sample Singaporean delicacies and the best street food in the world. The combination of Chinese, Indian, Malay and Peranakan flavours mean there is a diversity of taste passions served to suit every palate.”
Nahla Elmallawany, Head of Content at Discovery Networks MENA, commented: “Fatafeat is all about bringing great inspiration into the homes and lives of passionate lovers of incredible dishes. As the Middle East’s leading food channel, we not only want to showcase the wonderful flavours of our region, but also broaden horizons in our insatiable quest for the delicious. Partnering with Singapore Tourism allows us to share the traditional aromatic dishes of Singapore, whilst also diversifing our content offering to our growing audience of foodies who are constantly seeking new inspirations in cuisine.”
Chef Mohammad added: “International interest is a fantastic draw but many ‘made in Singapore’ restaurateurs have also emerged to create today’s dining scene. I am particularly excited to see the careers of Chefs Malcolm Lee, Damian d’Silva, and Eric Teo develop and grow. They’re all offering an abundance of talent and continue to make a real difference to the Singaporean food scene.”
With multiple options for foodies to experience a Singapore kitchen first-hand, feeding a passion to experience creative and novel recipe ideas, Chef Mohammad recommends the chicken rice or chili crab as the best dishes to try make at home.
Chef Orfali’s culinary adventures in Singapore can be seen in six episodes, all uploaded to the Fatafeat YouTube Channel .
With a year-round calendar of food and beverage events, such as the Singapore Food Festival, World Gourmet Summit, and SAVOUR, there is always something to experience beyond brick and mortar restaurants for those who value innovative authenticity, and a true combination of modernity and history.

Rhone River Cruise Prices 2020

Rhone River Cruise Prices 2020 is the first of a series of comparison charts and articles featuring nine European River Cruises offered by 10 world class river cruise lines. Each post in the series will feature two separate charts, one for summer peak pricing and one for the autumn season.
Comparison charts serve as a guide and attempt to answer: What is the price for an entry level and upgrade cabin; what’s included Rhone River cruise; what Rhone river cruise incentives are there for 2020?
The goal is to provide a True Per Diem for each cruise. The charts answer the questions: What is a Rhone river cruise going to cost me and how does the cruise I am looking at compare to Rhone river cruises offered by other companies?

The charts in this post focus on seven-night/eight-day Rhône cruises for two in Southern France, operating between Burgundy and the Provence region. Rhone river cruises are a bit of a misnomer in that ships may cruise on both the Rhone and Saone rivers. The confluence of those two rivers is in Lyon. Some river cruises leave Lyon to cruise up the Saone as far as Chalon-sur-Saone, a city at the entrance to France’s famed Dijon region. Other river cruisers, such as CroisiEurope, may begin their itinerary in Chalon-sur-Saone.
The Saône River begins in the Vosges department (county) near the border of Germany and ends in Lyon where it meets the Rhône. The Saône is connected to a few other waterways that are often traveled by river barge boats. About 16 miles southeast of Dijon, the Saone joins the Burgundy Canal in the city of Saint Jean. And the Canal du Centre links the Loire River to the Saône. The Seine river and Saône river are also connected through a couple of different waterways – the Yonne River and the Burgundy Canal. Smaller vessels can travel between the Seine and Saône rivers.
Most of the cruises on the Rhone, however, operate between Lyon, France and Arles or Avignon. Some river cruises embark or disembark in Port Saint Louis, on the Mediterranean Sea. Others begin or stop in Tarascon, between Avignon and Arles.
Avalon’s 2020 Rhone River cruises sail between Port-Saint-Louis on the Mediterranean Sea and Lyon.
Rhone river cruises travel through the historic and romantic wine region with guided shore excursions to Roman Ruins, castles, and cathedrals. The itineraries include opportunities to enjoy local cuisine, wines and cheeses. If you need to convince your spouse to cruise this region of France, see the movie “At Eternity’s Gate” about Vincent van Gogh, who lived in Arles for 14 months. In addition, you can read Ralph Grizzle’s article on River Cruise Advisor, In Search Of Van Gogh: Ashore In Arles

Here are a few things that we enjoy about Rhone river cruises.
Provencal and Bourgogne Beauty . Rhône River cruises typically sail between Lyon and Avignon or Arles, taking in the gorgeous landscapes of Burgundy and Provence. Pont du Gard . The iconic bridge crossing the Gardon River is one of the best-preserved legacies of ancient Roman architecture in France. Bicycling . We’ve enjoyed cycling along the Rhône and Saône rivers though the wine-producing region of Beaujolais and along the Île de la Barthelasse across from the city of Avignon. Arles . Perhaps best-known for its incredible Roman monuments and the fact that the impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh lived here from 1888 to 1889. Wonderful Wines . Rhône River cruises typically visit the wine-producing regions of Beaujolais and Chateauneuf du Pape. UNESCO World Heritage Sites , such as the Pope’s Palace in Avignon and Pont du Gard. That’s me doing what I love best – cycling – along the Rhone river.
A Rhone river cruise serves up the very best of France, mixing heritage and history with the country’s ever-present charm and beauty. Check out our videos Riverside Chat Episode 2: Rhone River Cruises | Video: A Cruise On France’s Rhone River With AmaWaterways
Most of the cruise lines offer an included shore excursion each day. Some cruise lines offer differing levels of activity or an extra excursion for an extra fee. One example, Emerald waterways offers three levels of excursions:
Active, which includes guided walking/hiking and biking tours; Plus, which is centered around food and wine tastings, chef hosted dining experiences and the like. DiscoverMore, are excursions that cost extra. For example, on the Rhone, Avalon offers guided tours to Pont du Gard or to Cannes. For examples of excursions and itineraries offered by Avalon, we recommend the helpful and informative podcast Avid Travel With Britton Frost – Pam Hoffee, Avalon Waterways
River Cruise Advisor published price comparison charts for European River cruises in 2019. The price comparison charts for European River Cruising 2020 are updates with a few additions. We have added embarkation and disembarkation ports, the square footage of upgrade cabins and per diems for the upgraded staterooms.
This year we researched Autumn for shoulder season 2020, whereas we used Spring for the 2019 charts. The information in the article for 2020 pricing also includes single and mobility limited cabin details, if the cruise line websites made that information readily accessible.
The prices in the chart are based on double occupancy. The upgrade costs for a cabin with a french balcony are per person. The value of the incentive is broken down per day, per person. True per diem will include the savings of incentives/discounts offered at the time of research as well as the imputed value of items that are not included.
Prices and details reflect information available at the time of research. Cruise lines offer varying incentives with differing time limits or deadlines, and it is best to check with a travel agent or the cruise company’s website. The incentives that are included in the charts were current at the time they were compiled and may no longer apply or there may be a new special offer.
Notable Observations
Some noteworthy observations were made when researching the cruises for these chart, which were completed on March 31, 2019.
An Avalon Rhone River cruise on Poetry II in 2020 is about $200 less than the same cruise offered in 2019. Avalon also offers $1,000 savings per couple for this cruise and the single supplement is waived. Guests pay the port fees of $182 per person. Gratuities on board are not included and we selected an average about $18 per day per person for tipping the staff; however, that is to the discretion of each guest. Sparkling wine is included with breakfast. Wine and beer are included with lunch and dinner. Complimentary bottled water, coffee and espresso drinks are available throughout the day.
In 2020, an Amawaterways Rhone River Cruise on AmaCello is $100 more than it was in 2019. Amawaterways offers $500 savings per cabin for this cruise. Port charges and fees of $182 are extra. Sparkling wine is included with breakfast. Wine and beer are included with lunch and dinner. Sip & Sail Cocktail Hour offers complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks prior to dinner. Complimentary bottled water, coffee and espresso drinks are available throughout the day. In researching staterooms for this cruise we discovered that AmaCello has two 140 square foot single cabins with french balconies.
On CroisiEurope, port charges are included . The ship, Van Gogh has single occupancy and mobility impaired accessible cabins; however, these were fully booked for the Rhone river on the date we researched. There are no laundry facilities aboard the ship. All beverages are included, with the exception of premium brands.
Emerald’s Rhone river cruise for summer 2020 is $100 less than the 2019 summer cruise. Emerald currently offers a savings of $500 per couple for the 2020 summer Rhone River cruise. Port charges and fees are included. Emerald discloses on its website that $575 of the cruise price is factored in toward gratuities for staff on board the ship. Beer and wine are included with lunch and dinner.
Riviera has solo cabins available for the cruise listed on the chart. Even though Riviera quotes the single cabin as the same price as a double cabin, the U.K.-based river cruise company also advertises that the single supplement has been waived for select cruises. So it’s worth checking out on Riviera’s website. Port charges and fees are included . This cruise is $170 more for 2020 on Riviera than it was in 2019. Riviera’s drink package remains at $159 per person and guests can also purchase alcoholic beverages a la carte. For reference, Riviera’s drinks packages are tiered: 5-day cruises: $99 per person; 6-day cruises: $109 per person; 8-day cruises: $159 per person; and 15-day cruises: $299 per person.
The peak summer Rhone River cruise with Scenic is all inclusive. In addition, Scenic is offering an airfare special of $395 from select major North American airports. Check Scenic’s website for more details. The average flight from a major U.S. hub is approximately $1,600. So this offer could amount to a $1,200 savings, depending where guests fly from.
A Tauck Rhone River cruise includes two hotel nights, excursions in Paris and a train journey to Lyon, where guests embark on a seven-night cruise. At the time of research, there were no entry level cabins available for this cruise. The pricing reflects Tauck’s Category 4 cabin with balcony at 183 square feet. Tauck is all inclusive. The Category 3 staterooms with private balcony measuring 150 square feet are sold out for this specific cruise listed in the chart. The upgrade price shown is for a Category 4 stateroom with a private balcony, measuring 183 square feet. Tauck advertises on its website that there are no single supplement charges for Category 1 staterooms. Also Tauck offers a savings of $1,000 per cabin on select departures and select cabins. * Nights – A 7-night river cruise spans 8 days, but one of those days is the disembarkation day. For that reason, the “per diems” are calculated based on the number of “nights” on board. The result is a fairer assessment than calculating the cost per “day.”
* Per Diem – The rate divided by the number of nights on board, indicated per person but based on double occupancy. Solo travelers will, in most cases, pay single supplements.
* Gratuities (on ship) – Some companies include gratuities for crew, others leave it to their guests to take care of gratuities.
* Gratuities (on shore) – Just as with crew gratuities, some companies take care of on-shore gratuities for guides and drivers; other companies leave it to their guests.
* Beverages – Nearly all river cruise companies offer complimentary soft drinks, speciality coffees, beer and wine during lunch and dinner. In between mealtimes, though, you’ll pay for most beverages when traveling with Avalon, Emerald, Riviera and Viking. Beverages are included on CroisiEurope, Crystal, Scenic, Tauck and Uniworld. AmaWaterways introduced a “Sip & Sail” Happy Hour in 2018, which includes complimentary cocktails before dinner.
* Optional Shore Excursions – All river cruise companies include complimentary excursions in most, if not all, ports of call. However, some companies offer optional shore excursions for a fee. Avalon, Crystal, Emerald, Riviera and Viking are among the companies that offer optional shore excursions.
* Current Incentive (per person) – Riviera does not offer booking incentives. The rest offer a range of incentives, ranging from early-booking savings to two-for-ones and reduced or free air. The incentives are always changing so be sure to check with your travel seller or the cruise company about current offers.
* Value of Incentive (per day/pp) – We’ve divided the amount of the incentive by the number of nights to arrive at a per-diem value.
* Balcony Upgrade – Nearly all of the entry-level staterooms feature fixed windows. The exception is Crystal, where even entry-level staterooms on its new vessels feature “Panoramic Balcony-Windows” that raise and lower, and basically function like a balcony (except on Mozart, which does have some fixed windows). Autumn Rhone River Cruise 2020 Price Comparisons The Autumn Rhone River Cruise 2020 chart compares all the same details that the peak summer season chart compares. Masala Art

…6th floor, Siam Icon. One thing we noticed immediately is that the kitchen is behind a large window: we saw all of our order being prepared. In one go, we ordered veggie biryani, roasted eggplant mash, bindi and garlic nan. The order took 20-25 minutes…a good sign that yesterday’s goop wouldn’t be reheated (I’m looking at you, Mrs. Balbir). The meal was worth the wait: smoky goodness from the eggplant, crisp okra in tomato sauce, tasty biryani and the fresh nan pulled from the tandoori oven. All excellent, fresh, and flavorful. Imo, the best Indian cuisine I’ve had in Bangkok. Our next visit in the very near future will include tandoori specialties, cucumber yogurt, and different veggie dishes. Surprisingly (for the location), the checkbin (including one Heineken) wasn’t too bad.

Indian Poultry Farm Market: Drivers
Increasing Incomes Coupled by Changing Food Habits: Broiler meat in the past had been considered to be a delicacy but as a result of increasing levels of urbanization and higher levels of disposable incomes, poultry meat is increasingly seen as less of a luxury product and more as a daily staple. Further with changing food habits and increasing exposure to global cuisines, the Indian population is increasingly converting to a non-vegetarian diet. Poultry meat is preferred over other meat products as it is considered more hygienic and is available throughout the year across the country at relatively lesser prices than fish/mutton.
Large Unpenetrated Market: The annual per capita consumption of broiler meat and eggs remains one of the lowest in the world and is significantly lower than many emerging and developed markets. As a result of the low penetration levels and continuously increasing income levels, however, we expect the per capita consumption of both broiler meat and eggs to increase continuously during the next five years.
Growth in the Food Services Market: Growth in the food services market such as restaurant and fast food joints are also creating a positive impact on the consumption of broiler meat and eggs. Both broiler meats as well as eggs represent important ingredients in both traditional Indian non-vegetarian recipes as well as fast foods.
Growth in the Bakery Foods Market: Eggs represent an important ingredient in bakery foods. The Indian bakery foods market is currently exhibiting strong growth rates. We expect the growth of the bakery foods market to create a positive impact on the consumption of eggs in India.
